Absaroka Capital is Montana’s first student-run, evergreen venture fund based at Montana State University in Bozeman. Founded by students to bridge the gap between education and investment, Absaroka Capital provides hands-on venture capital experience while supporting early-stage startups driving innovation across Montana and the Mountain West.

The name “Absaroka” originates from the proposed 1930s “State of Absaroka,” a movement by rural Montanans and Wyomingites who felt overlooked by distant power centers. True to that spirit, Absaroka Capital empowers overlooked founders and underserved regions by investing in ventures outside major coastal VC ecosystems.
